This idea has been expressed since ancient times. The actual wording comes from Thomas Grey’s poem Ode on a Distant Prospect of Eton College” (1742): “Where ignorance is bliss, ’tis folly to be wise.”

I have always been a firm believer in this, I feel like today is a super relevant day to talk about this. I am not sitting in my living room in a state of anxiety like most of the country. What’s the point we have no control.

I recall the first time I was able to vote when I was 18. It was so exciting. Now it feels like a circus act.

Now don’t get me wrong, I think the fact that we have the right to vote is incredible. I am grateful to have that right and I choose to use it often. Most people I assume do not vote every time they have the opportunity. I do.

Back to my point. I do not read, watch or consume news. I’d prefer to not live in a constant state of horror and fear. Fact: most news is bullshit. It’s all about making a story and inflating it. What’s the best train wreck to keep people watching? No thanks.

The local news is the worst. I think the goal is to ensure people live in despair.

If it’s going to happen, it’s going to happen. Live in the moment. Focus on what really matters, the people in your life, achieving goals and being happy.

Maybe you think it’s crazy that I literality have no idea what is going on in the world, at the least very basic knowledge, but what I can tell you is that I am most likely 100% happier because of it.

Living in a constant state of dread and worry is not desirable to me.

What can you do today to be more ignorant?

-Stop watching, reading, news

-Stop living in the past or future

-Start meditating

-Live in the moment

-Express gratitude

Peace and love.
